Ballyseedy Woods Walk
Description
Easy 1-2 hour loop walk in the woods. If you don’t want to do a loop you can just do a section and turn back.
Two car parks (North Loop car park and Southern car park). We have never had trouble getting a parking spot.
Easy flat walk. It’s a dirt track throughout. We have taken a buggy in but only on a dry day.
There is also a small fairy village close to the Northern car park entrance worth keeping an eye out for (as at Summer 2022).
No bathroom facilities.
No picnic benches
Good option on a very sunny day if you are nervous of babies/children getting too hot or sunburned.
The below external link gives good information on the history and walkways in the woods.
Notes:
– There’s a stream and river close to the path in some sections so you do need to be vigilant with younger children (when are you ever not!!)
– Families staying in Ballygarry Estate can often be spotted cycling through the woods. We’ve never cycled there but it is also an option.
The woods are close to Ballyseedy Garden Centre (less than 5 minute drive from the Northern Loop carpark) so consider combining with breakfast / lunch there and a run around their playground. This is a weekend favourite of ours. Note the attached photos were all taken from  the Northern Carpark entrance to the woods.

Ballygarry House Hotel is only about a 1 minute drive (10 minute walk) away from the Northern Loop carpark so a stop off there for lunch or coffee is also an option.
