🦊 The Friendly Fox Forest School is a nature-based, child-led outdoor program in Ennis, Co. Clare, welcoming children aged 0–10 years to explore, play, and thrive in the woods.
We offer:
🌱 Carer & Toddler Sessions (0–4 yrs) – gentle, playful mornings in nature for little ones and their grown-ups
🌳 Afterschool Forest School (5–10 yrs) – weekly woodland adventures with tools, games, crafts & free play
☀️ Summer Camps (4–10 yrs) – seasonal, immersive nature camps packed with den-building, storytelling, and wild fun
All sessions take place in Lees Road Park, guided by trained Forest School leaders who nurture curiosity, confidence, and connection through outdoor learning.
We believe in slow, soulful time in nature – and in letting kids be wild, muddy, and magical. 🌿
FAQs
1. What should my child wear to Forest School?
We play in all weather (except dangerous conditions), so children should wear layers, waterproofs, and sturdy boots or wellies. In colder months, hats, gloves, and thermal layers are ideal — expect muddy clothes and happy faces!
2. What happens in a typical session?
Each session includes a mix of free play, nature exploration, and optional activities like tool use, fire lighting, storytelling, and crafts. Children are encouraged to follow their interests in a safe, supportive woodland setting.
3. My child has additional needs — can they join?
Absolutely. We welcome all children and do our best to provide an inclusive, supportive environment. Please let us know about any specific needs when booking so we can plan accordingly.
5. What if it rains?
We embrace all kinds of weather! Sessions will go ahead in the rain — we’re well prepared for it. Only high winds or extreme weather would cause us to cancel for safety reasons.
